Objetive: To download and to install Joomla
Joomla is a managing system of dynamic contents (CMS or Content Management
System) that allows to create Web sites of high interactivity, professionalism
and efficiency. The administration of Joomla entirely is based on the management
online of contents..
Thestromboliproject.com does not take responsibility of other uses that the user can give this tutorial
FIRST STEP: TO DOWNLOAD AND UNZIP JOOMLA
Download the last version of Joomla from www.joomlaspanish.org
(spanish version) or from www.joomla.org.
It weighs about two megas.

Unzip the file that you finish downloading. You must raise this folder your
habitual server of hosting. It´s advisable that rename so that the name
is not too long. Call it joomla if it doesn´t desire to you to be too
original.
Within this folder you would have to see something thus:

SECOND STEP: UPLOAD THE FOLDER TO SERVER
Once unziped, it uses a program client FTP (some examples: NICO FTP, Smart
FTP, WS_FTP) to directly lodge the complete folder in your server or upload
using Dreamweaver. The first option is recommendable, will give less errors
you.

A small trick is to upload the whole folder little by little. That is to say,
folder a folder (administrator, mambots, templates, etc.), since if it gives
errors you while you upload it, will give failures you when executing itself
later and you will have to begin yet of zero… You have to upload the complete
folder, respecting its structure of archives. Warned you are…
It´s not either bad idea to close the rest of programs while, specially
those of P2P (Emule, ares, skype, etc.)
Depending on your speed of connection process it can last minutes. (In fact,
enough short while costs…)
Useful note:
You can directly upload to this folder the root directory (it´s generally
public_html or www). If it beams thus, you have be present that your Joomla
site will be seen directly from www.yourdomain.com.
Also you can install Joomla within some specific directory, creating it first
and soon uploading the folder within that directory, for example: public_html/joomla
or www/joomla. In this way your site will be seen in www.yourdomain.com/joomla.
THIRD STEP: TO CREATE THE DATABASE FOR JOOMLA
This step will be most complex, if you have never created a database on your
hosting.
It enters the Control Panel of your hosting(you will need the name user and
the keys of your hosting, facilitated by your company of hosting at the moment
for contracting it).

It looks for something as “Databases MySql”. If your hosting doesn´t
support php and MySql you have a problem…
It creates a new database with the name that you choose:

It will generally appear a warning announcing that the BBDD has been created
correctly.
Now you have to assign a user to the database created and to authorize all
the leave to him:

Important note:
If you don´t have any created user, you will have to create one from
this same Control Panel. It´s as simple as to choose a name of user and
a password. It points well these data, will be to you of utility
later.
FOURTH STEP: TO EXECUTE JOOMLA (finally…)
Have you upload the folder correctly? It´s not easy… Be sure well.
Now it sees the location where you have uploaded it. If you made in the folder
root, then it will be www.yourdomain.com. If it were in some subfolder, for
example in “joomla”, it sees www.yourdomain.com/joomla. Automatically
the installation will jump:

It appears a screen of verification. If you have made it all good up to here,
will appear all green, cheers!
A common error is that the file configuration.php is not “writeable”.
You would have to change the permissions in your hosting.
So that Joomla works correctly needs to be able to accede
and/or to write in certain archives and/or folders. If it appears “it
cannot be written” you need to change to the permissions of this file
and/or folder to allow that Joomla can write in him.
Click in following, above to the right. The following screen is not more than
the acceptance of the terms of the license. Again following.
Now it´s when they end our patience… We will see the following
thing:

By order, in the first field (1) localhost writes, in the second and
the third (2 and 3) name of user of the database that you have
created in the previous step and its password. I said to you that you
pointed that… In the quarter (4) the name of the database.
If it´s the first time that you install Joomla, it leaves
the rest as it is. Click in following.
Note:
If you´re making a reinstalation (with idea to update the version of
Joomla, I imagine) you will want to make a backup of the old
tables. You would mark that check box
If you have filled up the fields well, you will see the following thing:

It chooses a title for your Web. You don´t worry, you
will be able to change it soon. In the following screen be sure of which the
routes to arrive at your home are correct (Joomla is very ready,
will be fine), writes a mail direction so that Joomla communicates
with you and chooses a password (that is good, admin or love is not worth…)
for the administrator. Click in following
It points the password. And now, so and as you will read in screen,
DELETE COMPLETELY
THE INSTALATION DIRECTORY.

Use the FTP program that you have used before to accede to your remote server
As soon as you delete it acceding to www.yourdomain.com (or where you have
load it) you will see home of your page. Enter in www.yourdomain.com/administrator/index.php
you will arrive at the administration of the site. User “admin”,
and the password that you put to him. You already have a Joomla. To see what you do with him…
